The south (Opéra, Galaries Lafayette) offers a tourist-saturated centre
with a mix of commerce and businesses. The northwest is the red light district
of Pigalle and the more ‘populaire’ Clichy, with its famous Moulin
Rouge and bustling nightlife.
As you head east, towards Barbès, the area again becomes more popular.
Except for a few pockets, the 9th is a lively district not for the feint hearted.
Apartments
Larger prestigious apartments can be found in the centre and approaching the
north, and many of the wealthy thespians make the ninth their home. However,
the district does not offer a great deal for families and is more suited for
the adventurous.
A mix of the more traditional architecture and some modern developments are available for a range of budgets but the lack of green space and squares do give this area a very ‘city’ feel.
