Curriculum Offered
The Lycée International offers a full French curriculum, as defined by the Ministére d’Education Nationale. All student enrolled in the Lycée International are also part of one of the twelve national sections. In addition to the full French curriculum, students receive 6-8 hours of instruction per week in their section. American Section instruction, covering Language/Literature and History, is extremely rigorous and designed to keep children at level of the corresponding grade of a good American school.
French Language Curriculum & Support
All American Section students follow the full French curriculum. In the final two years of the program students prepare the OIB – the international option of the French baccalaureate, which includes both written and oral American Language/Literature and History components.
Non-francophone students may enroll in français spéciale, an intensive French program, which usually permits them to integrate native-level French courses within one year.
School History
Founded in 1952 for the children of NATO personnel, the school has twelve national sections -- American, British, Danish/Norwegian, Dutch, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish. Each section provides its students with instruction in the literature and history of the native country in addition to the full French curriculum.
