La Défense
La Défense is the business district of Paris – It boasts head offices of many blue chip companies, exhibition centres, a huge commercial centre, cinemas and the famous Grande Arche. Its confusing network of roads are hidden away underground leaving the main esplanade free to pedestrians. If you are working in one of the many towers and here for short term only then there are some apartments in the area, you would choose this area for practicality only.
